    Clementine Gin Fizz

    April 11, 2016

Clementine Gin Fizz: A refreshing cocktail of fresh clementine juice paired with thyme simple syrup in a classic gin fizz.

Cuties are for kids, right? FALSE! Clementines (aka Cuties for those who purchase that particular brand) are for everyone! Especially grown ups. Especially grown ups who want delicious cocktails, like this clementine gin fizz recipe!

I seriously dig these cocktails. And ever since we got our amazing Cuisinart juicer as a wedding shower gift, it has made juicing everything under the sun so much easier. And I especially love juicing these little guys!

This refreshing clementine juice is paired with gin, a homemade thyme simple syrup, and egg white, as in a traditional “fizz” cocktail. It is then finished off with a couple drops of bitters. I’ve been on a real “fizz” cocktail kick lately because I just love the frothiness that the egg white can give to a cocktail – it is such an simple and quick way to elevate a drink.

This is a good recipe and nearly exactly the way my Abuela from Zihuatanejo causes it to be I’m excited to try out some of the additional recipes Kristin! I really like your answers how everyone has gaps in their own kitchen and that you aren’t scared to step outside the box. Keep this up! For your”women” who bashed; pity you! What happened to others!

Sign me up! I love clementines, and will literally eat a whole bag in a day if given the chance. I might have to buy extra just to reserve a few for making this cocktail, though! I’ve used thyme simple syrup in cocktails before, and love the subtle herbaceous notes it gives to whatever you add it to. Pinning this to make later!

(P.S., I just noticed you’re in Detroit and I literally did a little happy dance! I’m in Ann Arbor, and constantly lamenting how few bloggers seem to live in Michigan. We should get together for drinks or something!)

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Willow! I could seriously go through a whole BOX of clementines just making these cocktails all the time – they are so fresh and tasty 😀

Love Ann Arbor! I went to U of M for college so those are my old haunts 🙂 We should definitely get together sometime this summer (after my busy spring of wedding planning is out of the way 😀 ). Thanks for stopping by and I’m going to follow you on your social media too so we can keep in touch!

Oh, congratulations!!! When are you getting married? My husband and I are looking forward to our third anniversary this May. 🙂

And how cool — I commend anyone who made it through U of M alive, haha! What did you study / do you do (besides blogging, of course)?

We are getting married in June! Congrats on your anniversary coming up! I studied Biology at U of M and now I’m a psychiatry resident in the Metro Detroit area, intern year. What do you do out there in Ann Arbor? It’s seriously one of my favorite places – the fiancé and I are talking about potentially moving west a bit when we buy our next house (like Novi/Northville/etc. areas are where I like to look at houses when I’m dream house shopping 😀 ) and it would be so nice to be closer to A2 again!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Thalia! It’s definitely a great cocktail if you’re looking for something light and refreshing! My mom has been raving about this drink since I first made one for her a couple months ago ?
