Today I’m sharing with you guys our master bedroom inspiration board, a compilation of our plans to turn our dated master bedroom into a beautiful modern farmhouse retreat!
Can you guys feel the change in the air? The temperature here dropped from the 80’s to the 50’s in the blink of an eye, and while it is projected to increase again for a little while, it still shocked me into the fall spirit like a plunge into cold water! I’m not complaining, though: bring on the pumpkin spice lattes, layered outfits, cozy boots, and trips to the cider mill! This is one of my favorite times of the year!

Inspiration Photos
For those of you following along on our journey to transform our new home into a modern farmhouse, you will already know that the style we are shooting for is modern farmhouse, similar to the clean yet rustic farmhouse look of Chip and Joanna Gaines. Their shows give us a lot of inspiration, as does the Houzz website. Here are some of the inspiration photos that we hope to channel for our master retreat:
We plan to paint the walls a crisp white, and do a shiplap feature wall in the same color on the wall behind our bed. New furniture, a bigger bed, new curtains, and removing the awful popcorn ceilings is also in the future for our master suite!

Hi Sarah,
Painting the walls crisp white is the best idea, ever! I love white walls. Can’t wait to see your master suite retreat makeover 🙂
Cheers,
Jessica

Thanks for your comment, Jessica! I love white walls too because everything pops against them! Will post the after photos when completed later this year!
