This spiced pumpkin bourbon swizzle is made with pumpkin spiced syrup, bourbon, berry liqueur, cinnamon spice and apple cider, and will be your new go-to drink this winter.
I absolutely love the fall. Main reason? Pumpkin everything. All day, everyday, and nobody can judge me!
Okay, I know they’re judging a little, but who cares? Pumpkin spice is about the tastiest thing you can have these days, and this cocktail is no exception! It hit me while waiting in line at the drive-thru at Starbucks, like a ton of delicious fall-flavored bricks: put that tasty pumpkin spice syrup in a drink!

And voila: pumpkin spiced bourbon swizzle! A swizzle cocktail is one that has been mixed with a swizzle stick, and they are filled with lots of crushed ice to keep them nice and chilled. If you don’t have your own swizzle stick on hand, however, a cocktail stirrer will work too (that’s what I used!).

Today’s swizzle cocktail pairs bourbon with pumpkin spiced syrup and my new favorite liqueur: Voyager Saskatoon Berry Liqueur from Northern Latitudes Distillery! Over the summer we spent a weekend wine tasting up in Leelanau Peninsula in northern Michigan, and had a great time tasting wines and liquors. This Saskatoon Berry liqueur is perfect with all types of cocktails, but really meshes well with bourbon, in my opinion!

The drink is then finished with cinnamon, apple cider, and an apple slice for garnish. It’s pretty much the perfect culmination of all things autumn!

- 1 1/2 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce berry liqueur (such as Voyageur Saskatoon Berry Liqueur from Northern Latitudes Distillery)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin spiced syrup
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 3 ounces apple cider
- 1 apple slice, for garnish (optional)
- Fill a lowball cocktail glass about halfway with crushed ice. Add bourbon, berry liqueur, pumpkin spiced syrup, cinnamon, and apple cider. Using a swizzle stick (or a spoon), swizzle the drink around and around until ingredients are well-combined. Fill remaining space with crushed ice and serve with apple slice and straw, if desired.
