A gorgeous pastel summer floral skirt is paired with a blush pink blouse, jean jacket, and my favorite leather summer sandal of all-time in this summer work outfit!

You know how you have those times of the year when you feel like, “oh yes, things will settle down for the next few weeks and we will have time to catch up on tasks, breathe, and just relax a bit.” But then life is like, “nope, just kidding!” Yeah, this has been one of those times for us – life has been so busy! When I think about the next time the hubby and I will have a free weekend, it can be a little depressing! Especially since he just left yesterday for a 10 day work trip. It’s so easy for the summer to pass right on by without taking a chance to just enjoy it, and so I’m really trying to stop and smell the roses when it comes to enjoying the little things in life this season.

For example, when I shot today’s outfit post, I spent about 2 hours on Belle Isle, one of our local state parks. It was early in the morning and had just finished raining and the light was just beautiful, and the island was practically empty! It was such a perfect little Wednesday morning gift!

So let’s talk about this outfit, because I love how versatile it is! It’s professional enough that it is appropriate for a business casual work environment, but it’s also such an adorable color combination that it would be so cute for a baby shower, or a luncheon, or a day date out in the city! I love playing with colors like this, and this skirt is becoming a new favorite piece in my wardrobe. I recently purchased it during a Zaful haul, and the only thing that could make this skirt better is pockets (not really a complaint, I just love a good pocket! I also loved this skirt and this skirt too, but we can’t have everything we want in life. Or so my husband tells me…).
