There are two kinds of wardrobe items: the kind of item you will have around forever, and the kind of item that is only going to be in style for a little while and you’re going to get rid of within a few seasons or years. I try not to spend a lot of money on items that are trendy, and if I do decide to purchase a trendy item that may be out of style next year, I try to buy it on sale.
