This bourbon peach crumble is super tasty with a delicious crumbly oat topping and fresh homemade whipped cream, and comes together in under an hour!
We are almost to the weekend y’all, which means we are almost to Thanksgiving! It’s always a busy time of year around here because in addition to the start of the holidays and lots of hosting (this year we even have an engagement party thrown in the mix that I have to help set up for too!), my husband’s birthday is today! It can be hard to find time to try and celebrate his special day when there are so many other commitments, but I always make it a priority to do something he loves. . . which generally means a day spent at Dave & Busters. My least favorite place on earth. . . so I must really love him! That’s what we’ll be doing this weekend!
Today’s post is a delicious recipe that is easy to throw together and take to any holiday get-together or family dinner party this time of the year! This bourbon peach crumble can even be adapted to use another fruit if you prefer (I’m looking at you, apples!), and it would be just as tasty. There are three main components:
- fruit!
- crumble!
- whipped cream! Not optional, friends.

First, I prepared the peaches by dousing them with honey, lemon, sugar, and a healthy dose of bourbon. The addition of cornstarch helps the mixture to thicken up. Let the peaches sit in your cast iron skillet while you prepare the crumble. PSA: Preparing extra crumble is always okay. 😀 You can use extra crumble on this dish if you want, or even refrigerate or freeze it for even easier prep of this dish in the future! Then, after you pop your crumble in the oven for about half an hour, prepare your homemade whipped cream. Because nothing beats a pressurized can of artificial flavoring like homemade whipped cream, you guys! (I don’t even buy that stuff anymore!)

- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 6 large ripe peaches pitted and cut into 1″ wedges
For crumble:

- 1/4 teaspoon cardamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter cold and cut into small pieces
For whipped cream:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine bourbon, honey, lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar, white sugar, cornstarch and salt and whisk until combined. Add peach wedges and toss to evenly coat. Transfer peaches to a cast iron skillet and set aside.
-
To make crumble, combine oats, almonds, brown sugar, white flour, cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg and salt in a mixing bowl. Add butter and use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the topping, as if you are making a biscuit dough. Once combined, spoon the crumble over the peaches. Cook crumble in oven for 30 minutes. Turn on broiler to high heat and broil for 2-3 minutes, until top is golden brown.
-
While crumble is baking, prepare fresh whipped cream. Add heavy whipping cream, white sugar, and vanilla to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment. Whisk until stiff peaks form. Serve crumble topped with whipped cream.
