I absolutely love a good summer cocktail, and this sweet tea sangria with fresh blackberries really hits the spot!
Sweet tea is our go-to drink in the summer. Like, we’ll probably have diabetes any day now with all the sweet tea we drink during those warm months of the year! And what better way to improve upon the deliciousness that is sweet tea than by making it a cocktail?
I absolutely love this recipe. It’s super easy to make: it’s just 3 more ingredients to turn this tasty sweet tea into a delicious adult beverage! I like to use the family size tea bags for this recipe – I make a huge batch of sweet tea and then make individual sangria cocktails as people want them.
Now it’s your turn: What is your favorite variation on sangria? Share your favorite recipes with me by commenting below!
- 4 cups water
- 2 family-sized sweet tea bags
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 6-7 blackberries
- 1-2 lemon slices
- ½ cup pinot grigio
- 1 cup sweet tea
- To make sweet tea, boil 2 cups water over high heat. Once water comes to a boil, turn off the heat, add tea bags, and cover. Allow tea to steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and pour tea into a pitcher. Add lemon juice and sugar, stirring until dissolved. Add 2 cups of water and stir until combined. Store in refrigerator until chilled before using, about 1 hour.
- To make one cocktail, muddle 3-4 blackberries and 1-2 lemon slices in the bottom of a tumbler glass. Fill glass with ice. Add pinot grigio (or another white wine, if you prefer) and sweet tea, stirring until combined. Top with 3 remaining blackberries, if desired. Enjoy!
