Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s the new year, and time to fill your beautiful home with some cozy winter textiles! I love giving the house a bit of a refresh when the holidays are over and all those Christmas ornaments and garlands are packed away in the basement again. Textiles are a super easy way to do that!

Winter is genuinely one of my favorite times of the year. It can be cold and the weather may even on occasion be sub-par, but personally, for me, there is little that beats the feeling of cozying up by a warm fire with a book and a steaming hot cup of hot chocolate. That can make any freezing day better, however, if you have got an electrical fire instead of a real one and it is not heating your home up properly even after your tweaks, then you’ve got a problem. That is why it is important for professionals like Epic Electric, Heating & Cooling, and others like it, to come to your home and get that looked at as soon as possible as there is nothing worse than a broken-down furnace or boiler that will make your home not the cozy space you want it to be. Forget drinking a nice steaming cup of hot chocolate, you are looking at gulping down some ice cold chocolate milk if your heating is on the fritz. Bear in mind that if you are a home that relies on oil and you are worried about stocking up for the winter, you can always go onto websites like paylessforoil.com so you are saving money as you heat your home. Comfiness all around it seems!

One of my favorites is by far a simple white fur blanket. I’ve had one in our bedroom since we moved into our new house, and I absolutely love it! First of all it’s a cozy, warm addition for chilly winter nights. But it’s also a nice way to continue to bring those super cozy vibes into your home still after the holiday season is over.

However, keep in mind that no matter how furry your blanket is, it may not completely protect you from the bone-chilling winters. So, in order to stay comfortable inside your home, you may require a heating system capable of keeping your home warm. For example, you could install an underfloor heating system (from Heavenly Heat Inc.) It can provide even heat distribution throughout your home from the floor up. Besides, proper insulation can enhance the effects of underfloor heating systems. If your room isn’t heating up properly, it’s most likely due to insufficient insulation. The more well-insulated your home is, the less you’d need to raise the temperature of your underfloor heating. Check for any gaps or cracks to ensure that your home is as energy efficient as possible.

Another favorite of mine is a towel refresh! We recently did this in our home and it’s the perfect way to make things fresh and clean for the new year! I absolutely love how fluffy and classic these striped towel sets are!
