Today I’m sharing my spring skincare routine, from face washes to moisturizers and everything in between, browse this site if you want to buy the products.
Happy Wednesday, friends! I pray that everyone’s quarantine is going well and that your fending off those stir-crazy feelings. It can be difficult being told you need to stay cooped up – and that feeling is doubly worsened by the fact that the weather is inevitably going to be warming up over the next few weeks. Make sure you still get some fresh air in the form of hanging out on the porch, or walking the dog (in a low populated area of course!). There is nothing like stale dry air, and it is especially bad for your skin! It needs the fresh clean breeze of the outdoors to keep it healthy, as well as a few little products I’m going to end up nattering on about in this entry! A couple of new ones have caught my eye recently – mesoestetic being one of them, and so I have had the time to buy and try some of these excellent brands out. I’m ready to share my favourites with you and give you the best reviews I possibly can of them!
So, having said all that, this is the perfect time to reevaluate your skincare routine, friends! Some of my friends told me that CBD oil (pure quality ones found in online stores like Blessed CBD) has an anti-inflammatory property and helps them control acne problems. I never tried CBD, but I’m guessing its antioxidant properties can really help the skin. Anyway, I myself made some changes to both my morning and nighttime routine for my spring skincare, and I wanted to share with you today each product and why I use it. I’ll be talking more about my morning routine and my nighttime spring skincare routine! For the best tips about skincare routine and products, visit https://emeraldspa.com/.
the morning routine
Step 1: Elemis Superfood Cica Calm Cleansing Foam. I start the morning off with a fresh face wash using my new favorite cleanser by Elemis. This cleansing foam is just what I need in the morning: refreshing and gentle, perfect for sensitive skin. I discovered this cleanser from Josie over at the Fashion Mumblr (one of my favorite YouTubers!), and I love this cleanser because it contains so many amazing things for your skin! First off, it contains cica (or its scientific name, centella asiatica), which is a flowering plant that grows in swamps in Southeast Asian and the Southeastern US. I love how fresh and clean it makes my face feel, and really helps to calm any redness in the skin. (This plant has even been used for healing wounds in the past!) The cleansing foam also features agave, rice water, and green tea seed oil.
Step 2: Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Tonic Toner. Next up, I like to use my favorite toner to help even out my skin. I use this Bobbi Brown hydrating facial tonic as it is great for sensitive skin, leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh, and is the perfect prep for makeup!
Step 3: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. Next up is a moisturizing day cream by Elemis: their pro-collagen marine cream. I picked up this cream because I’d been wanting to try a pro-collagen cream, and this one is perfection! It contains padina pavonica, Mediterranean algae which help to improve glycosaminoglycan levels in the skin. If improving the elasticity and reducing the appearance of sagging on your skin is your priority, it may be worthwhile to read City Beauty reviews of their products such as Multi-Action Sculpting Cream that tend to be really effective. Creams like these help to keep your skin firm and also increases elasticity and can help with wrinkles (which I can attest to – definitely show up earlier than you’d think in life!). The cream is also incredibly hydrating, which is perfect before I put on my makeup in the morning! If you want your skin to keep that firmness going, you may want to pair it with a Beverly Hills MD supplement by using some dermal repair complex coupons that can be found online at dermalrepaircomplexbhmd.com so your skin can always feel that fresh firmness.
Step 4: Bobbi Brown Primer Plus Mattifier. The last step is to prime my face if I am going to be wearing makeup that day! Which I try not to occasionally, to help my skin breath and recover, but if I am going to be wearing makeup I like to use the Bobbi Brown Primer Plus Mattifier, which I’ve found is perfect for my skin type because I tend to have both dry sections and oily sections of my face. This helps with both!
the nighttime routine
Step 1: Paula’s Choice Gentle Touch Makeup Remover with Organic Cotton Round Makeup Remover Pads. The first step is of course makeup removal, and right now I’m loving the Paula’s Choice makeup remover from Nordstrom. It’s nice and gentle and perfect for sensitive skin, and does a good job removing both foundation as well as eye makeup like mascara and liner.
Step 2: BareMinerals Pure Plush Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam with Vanity Planet Facial Cleansing Brush Next up is my intense facial cleaning for the day! At night, I like to use this facial cleansing brush by Vanity Planet with a dollop of BareMinerals’ Pure Plush cleansing foam. This is like heaven, friends: I use the attachment for sensitive skin which leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and not irritated.
Step 3: Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Tonic Toner. I also like to use the same toner with cotton reusable pad at night as well – scroll back up to read about why I love this product!
Step 4: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Face Oil with Herbivore Botanicals Jade Facial Roller. Next up is all the nitty gritty good stuff! I love that this facial oil is called an “elixir,” because that is exactly what it feels like: a magical compound that rejuvenates my skin overnight! I will use my fingers to dab a bit of this over my face (excluding some of the parts that are usually more oily, which is mainly my T-zone). Then I will use my jade roller to rub it in, which pulls double duty in that it helps calm down any redness in my skin and helps aid in lymphatic drainage.
Step 5: Kiehls’ Eye Fuel Cream. Okay yes. This product is technically in the men’s department. But it works so well, who cares? No judgment here, peeps. I like to dab a bit of this eye cream under each eye before moisturizing, to help with puffiness and calming this more sensitive part of my face down.
Step 6: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer. Next up, it’s time to moisturize! I like to lather on a layer of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, which leaves my skin really well hydrated. I’ve been using this moisturizer for a while now and absolutely love it!
Step 7: Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner. And the last step before getting that beauty rest is my Revitalash eyelash conditioner! After I had Sophie I told my husband I was going to get my eyebrows microbladed and also get eyelash extensions. Well I have an appointment set up for microblading, but I wanted to see if one of the lash serums I’d heard about would be beneficial or not. And after finishing the “6-week” 1-ml trial run of the product, I can confidently say it totally works! My eyelashes are longer and fuller than ever before, and they curl sooo nicely now! I’ve literally decided to postpone eyelash extensions at this point because of how well this product works.
