Happy Monday, friends! It’s officially fall and we stocked up over the weekend on all the things for our outdoor front porch space! I wanted to share with you how I go about setting up our fall porch decor today!

step 1: base pieces

You can set up your front porch scape without any containers, but I find that using containers such as these apple crates and vintage crocks helps to give some character to your space! You could also use baskets or outdoor flower pots depending on the vibe you are going for.

step 2: choose florals

I am a sucker for mums, and even better: they come in so my different colors that you can change from year to year what the overall color scheme is for your fall front porch decor by just changing flower color! If you don’t love mums, though, you can consider other options for foliage such as ornamental cabbage or even bunches of dried wheat.

step 3: grabs lots of pumpkins!

We have several vendors in our area who offer seasonal selections such as Christmas trees in the winter, flowers in the spring, and a great selection of fall florals and pumpkins in the autumn. This is where I prefer to get my pumpkins because they definitely will stock a wider selection of different types of pumpkins, however, the prices are generally cheaper at home improvement stores such as Lowe’s or Home Depot. You may want to shop around to get the best prices and selection! I like to choose different shapes, sizes, and colors, but some years I have gone for a more monochromatic look (such as all shades of orange, or all white!).

step 4: add some extra fun!

This is optional, but I happened to be at our local Joann Fabrics and found some nice faux floral berry and wheat stems that I thought would add some nice texture and interest to the display. I layered some in with the pumpkins on both sides of the door.

And there you have it! You can also add some fun fall-themed wreaths like our wheat wreaths that I picked up a few years ago and have become an autumn staple around here. You could even switch out your door mat for a cute fall one!
