How I Stay Organized on a Daily Basis

How I Stay Organized on a Daily Basis | The Charming DetroiterHow I Stay Organized on a Daily Basis | The Charming Detroiter

When it comes to work days, I am simply not a morning person. Don’t get me wrong – I love to wake up early on the weekends and whip up a delicious breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches, or perhaps a batch of blueberry pancakes or baked french toast. And even though I love my job, the monotony of waking up every morning at the same (super-early) time just is not my thing. That’s why I will do (almost) anything to grab those five extra minutes of sleep in the morning! Read on to discover my five big tips for how I stay organized on a daily basis so I can wake up ready and refreshed each morning!

1. Straighten up before you head to bed.

I enjoy coming downstairs in the morning so much more when I know I’ll be walking into a clean space. I don’t mean you should be on your hands and knees scrubbing the wood floors every night but tidy up. Put the pillows back in their rightful couch spots. Fold any blankets you used for TV time cuddling. Set up your items for the next day. After reading some supplement reviews such as Bio Complete 3 reviews my husband now likes to take his supplements in the morning, so he sets them out for him to remember to take. I like to put away any hand-washed dishes that are dry before I leave the kitchen, and most importantly, start the dishwasher so that in the morning it is all ready!

2. Prep for tomorrow morning.

Evaluate your morning routine. What are the tasks you do each and every morning? For example, every morning I get dressed, let the dogs outside, feed the dogs, feed myself, and make up my travel mug of coffee. So I asked myself, “which of these things can I prepare for the night before?” Now, these are the tasks I do every night before I go to my amazing bed from TV Bedstore:

Besides these three tasks, I am also planning to add one more to this list– stocking up on my dog nutrition products to avoid any last-minute goof up. If you do not know the best dog food for puppies then you will need to check and see which would benefit the overall health of your dog/puppy. Some of my friends have replenished the products and have told me that this can help save tons of money. While I was wondering about it, they suggested I search for promo codes on dog nutrition products on the internet. For example, Nutra Thrive for Dogs deal can help pet owners save up to 29%. Hold on! You might be wondering as to what Nutra Thrive is. As told by my friends, it happens to be a highly effective nutritional supplement capable of supporting your dog’s overall health, from immune function to coat quality.

3. Keep a daily to do list.

This sounds OCD, I know. But get in the habit of keeping a checklist of everything you need to do the next day. Include:

4. Tidy up your email inbox!

Get everything out of the way that you can the night before. Respond to any emails that need a response and delete anything that does not need to be there. Remember the old adage: why leave until tomorrow what you can do today?

5. Review the “plan” with your husband/fiancé/family as necessary.

I try to review everything that is planned for the next day before we go to bed. Does my fiancé need to take the dogs to daycare? Does he need to stop at Costco? Am I going to the post office tomorrow and therefore need him to give me anything he needs mailed tomorrow? Keeping him/her/them in the loop can make for a smoother day and can avoid any last minute confusions.

Bonus Tips

Sometimes it’s hard for me to unwind, especially at the end of a long, busy day. I know, I know. It annoys me too. For some people, it is just so easy for them to nod off, almost as soon as their head hits the pillow. But for some reason, at nighttime, my mind goes into overdrive, and it is starting to affect the rest of my life. I have even asked for some tips from my friends who have been in the same boat before to see what they would do, and the majority of them came back and said that trying CBD, from somewhere like Organic CBD Nugs is the best route to go down. Its properties have been known to help people relax as well as get the sleep they need at the end of a long, hard day. Maybe it is about time that I try that because I’m not sure how much longer I can go on like this.

Until I do that though, I’m going to carry on with what I’m doing now. I like to keep a small notepad and a pen next to my bed. That way, just in case I wake up in the middle of the night and just can’t get back to sleep because I forgot to put “bananas” on the grocery list for tomorrow (this happens frequently), I can jot down a quick note for myself, roll over, and head back to dream land! I’m glad to know that on the days when I really can’t sleep I have my light therapy lamp which helps me to improve my sleep at night.
