Recently we have been remodeling our house to make it fit the vision of our dream home. The last project was the bathroom and it certainly looks so much better now! I am so excited to share with y’all today our guest bedroom remodel reveal! I planned and worked on this room for a long time, and I absolutely love how all the components came together in sort of a beach-meets-spa-meets-cozy hygge sort of way.

The inspiration for this room was a beachy, spa-like vibe. I started off knowing that I absolutely wanted to paint the walls a light, bright white, and had settled specifically on Magnolia Market’s shiplap white. I mean, what a perfect name for a color, am I right? The hubby thought I was slightly nuts seeing as this white was a whiter white than the original color, which meant painting not only all four walls but the ceiling as well. (If I had realized how uncomfortable painting the ceiling can be, I might have made a different choice!)

The framed embroidery in the back was a keepsake from my grandmother, which reminds me of a perfect little hobbit house, for those who get the reference 🙂 The jars are filled with shells from one of the first vacation I took with my now husband, to Anna Maria Island with my family.

The hanging basket over the bed is one of my favorite components of the room: a twenty dollar steal from Hobby Lobby, no joke! I somehow went my whole life without stepping foot in a Hobby Lobby until last summer (thanks, mom!) and now I am officially hooked. Sorry, bank account!

The artwork adjacent to the dresser was a beautiful painting that we purchased on a family trip to Cozumel, Mexico when I was in high school. Somehow it survived long enough to be placed into a beautiful frame (thanks again, mom!) and placed here in our guest bedroom. I love the blue ocean-y vibes it gives the room! I am also absolutely in love with the awesome rope curtain idea that I found on Pinterest: it was the perfect addition to this room!

I’m also considering installing an air conditioner in the room, but I’m not sure if it would fit with the overall beachy vibe of the space. However, if the temperature rises, we might definitely have to install an AC because it would be strange to invite a guest and not have an air conditioning system in their room during the hot summer months. Anyway! Let’s see what happens.
